Welcome!

I am a licensed psychologist with over 15 years of experience providing therapy, training, community outreach, clinical supervision, and administration. Prior to opening my private practice, I worked primarily in higher education settings. As such, I have a nuanced understanding of the unique demands that highly achieving individuals face during different phases of life–whether that is completing undergraduate, graduate, or professional school; beginning in the workforce; addressing mid to late career decision-making; the transition to parenthood and parenting throughout the lifespan; and balancing the demands of work while caregiving for others.
My practice focuses on working with diverse people who are navigating life transitions and demands, particularly those connected to their identity and sense of self. I believe each of us is shaped through our life experiences, both positive and painful. Therapy is an opportunity to explore these experiences, especially if you are feeling unfulfilled or questioning your life’s purpose and meaning. While this process can be difficult, it can also lead to tremendous clarity, insight, and even joy!
While I am a generalist clinician–which means I meet with people who hold a wide array of identities and struggle with a broad range of challenges–I do hold expertise in working with clients of Asian descent and other BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) clients. I have worked extensively with LGBTQIA+ folx, those impacted by immigration (self or family), transracial adoptees, neurodivergent individuals, first generation college students, athletes, and those struggling with a history of religious trauma. Considering the nuance of client identity is central to my therapeutic approach, which is collaborative and empowerment-based.
MORE ABOUT MY THERAPY APPROACH:
I am an interactive therapist who will work collaboratively with you to set clear therapy goals and revise them as needed. I primarily conceptualize work with clients from psychodynamic, interpersonal, multicultural-feminist, and strengths-based perspectives. This means that I consider contextual factors like personal history (e.g., family background, immigration history), identity variables (e.g., gender, race, ethnicity), sociocultural climate, and other environmental factors when addressing the challenges that are bringing people to therapy. I then assess the strengths my clients already possess and where these strengths may need to be adjusted in order to better support the life they would like to live. At times I incorporate cognitive-behavioral strategies if I believe they will be helpful. Throughout therapy, I check in with clients about their experience of our work, and we make adjustments if needed. I work with clients on the timelines that are best for them. For some people, the work is relatively brief (6-12 sessions), while for others the work is longer term. We can discuss your hopes and needs and tailor your therapy to best fit them.
LOCATION AND CONTACT:
I welcome you to email or call me to connect about working together. I meet people via telehealth and offer a complimentary 20 minute initial consultation. The initial consultation gives us a chance to discuss your hopes for therapy, and we can collectively determine if we believe working together is in your best interest. I am authorized to practice in several states outside of GA via PSYPACT (psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap).
FEES FOR INDIVIDUAL THERAPY:
My rates for individual therapy are listed at the bottom of this page. I am an out-of-network provider with insurance companies; however, I can provide you with a superbill (detailed healthcare receipt) for you to submit for potential reimbursement from your insurance company. If this is an option you would like to consider, following is a list of questions that I typically advise people to ask their insurance companies when they are considering an out-of-network provider such as myself: 1) Do you provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? If so, what is my responsibility? 2) Is coverage subject to a deductible? If so, how much is the deductible, and how much of my deductible have I already met this calendar year? 3) What are the limits (if any) on the number of sessions I am allowed per calendar year? 4) Do you require pre-authorization prior to covering outpatient mental health services with an out-of-network provider?
CONSULTING AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING:
I offer leadership consulting and educational programming around diversity issues. You may email me to discuss your needs and to obtain information about my rates.
